INFRATONAL is the artistic project of Louk Amidou, a Paris-based multidisciplinary artist, musician, coder, and interaction designer working at the intersection of digital arts, electronic music, artificial intelligence, and real-time interaction.

Amidou’s relationship with creative technology began as a teenager within the Atari Demoscene of the 1990s, where coding, computer graphics, and electronic music existed as interconnected forms of experimentation. He later studied Fine Arts, Computer Graphics, and Communication, developing a practice that moves continuously between visual creation, music, technology, and interaction design.

His current research investigates the fragile relationship between humans and algorithms, exploring how artificial intelligence and generative systems can become responsive creative partners rather than autonomous mechanisms of production. Instead of using algorithms simply to generate finished images or sounds, Amidou constructs systems conceived as intangible instruments: behavioural environments that can be performed through gesture, movement, sound, and human presence.

Real-time performance is therefore fundamental to his practice. The algorithm defines a system of possibilities, but the artwork emerges through the encounter between its autonomous behaviour and the spontaneous actions of the performer or audience. Human imperfection, hesitation, unpredictability, and emotion become essential elements within computational processes that might otherwise tend towards automation and optimisation.

His works combine generative algorithms, artificial intelligence, computer vision, sensors, real-time graphics, and electronic sound to create audiovisual performances and interactive installations in which the boundaries between instrument, performer, and artwork remain deliberately unstable. Projects including Existence, Exuberance, Conversation, Useless Hands, and Misalignment explore different aspects of this evolving dialogue between human intention and algorithmic behaviour.

Alongside his artistic practice, Amidou is the founder of Artefunkt Studio, dedicated to research, experimentation, education, and the production of interactive AI installations and AI-AV performances. Through INFRATONAL, he continues to question the nature of artistic authorship in the age of artificial intelligence, proposing a form of algorithmic art in which technology acquires meaning through its encounter with embodied, imperfect, and spontaneous human presence.
