Beneath the surface of reality, discontinuous and blurry, there is a background of co-existence, a woven fabric of connections, a clustering of multiple strands with modes of communication that are implicit and intelligible to all the living bodies of the world.
The term KRASIS originates from ancient Greek: the action of mixing or blending two or more things. For this performance, we were inspired by the writings of the philosopher E. Coccia. He used this term to describe an essential feature of the inner workings of the world: "A total mixture in which all bodies occupy the same space, while still preserving their qualities and individuality." La vie des plantes. Une métaphysique du mélange, Emanuele Coccia, published by Payot & Rivages, Paris.
Coccia thus argues for the idea that all living species are continuously mixing and in contact with each other. Also, this moves us away from the illusion that humans are above all other beings, isolated from nature.
For us, the artists, the image of the world as krasis entails a vision of a contemporary world that is attentive to its own essence.
It is within this vision that we hope to distinguish a potential for an acceptable, or, even more, a desirable future.
It is with this vision that we respondto the fractured times we are living.
