Offcut esamina le complessità del nostro rapporto con il mondo naturale e come lo interrompiamo. Lavorando con ecologisti, geologi e specialisti di dati in un ampio laboratorio di arte ed ecologia, l'artista Rebecca Smith (Urban Projections) ha trascorso una residenza di 3 mesi rispondendo alle antiche Humber Head Peatlands nel Regno Unito. Queste torbiere, che sono composte per il 90% da acqua, contengono enormi quantità di carbonio ma sono state ampiamente sfruttate, causando perdite e un'importante fonte di carbonio. Sebbene le torbiere globali occupino solo il 3% della superficie terrestre in tutto il mondo, contengono circa il 25% del carbonio del suolo, il doppio delle foreste del mondo. 'Offcut' esamina la nostra relazione con il paesaggio di Peatland e ri-narra le idee sul nostro passato, presente e futuro, con un tuffo oltre l'Antropocene nel tempo profondo.
